Piano Initiation

The Flor da Murta Music Academy, organizer of the Oeiras International Piano Festival, organizes several intensive introductory piano courses throughout the year as part of the festival’s educational mission.

The FIPO 2026 Intensive Introductory Piano Course is aimed at students of all ages with little or no musical experience who want to start learning the piano.
In this course, students will become familiar with the piano and its mechanisms, learn some basic techniques, and be introduced to the classical repertoire and music theory.

Each student will have a minimum of two 45-minute individual lessons, at a time to be agreed with the teacher Teresa da Palma Pereira. At the end, there will be a group activity, at a time to be determined, with all the students on the course.

The lessons will take place on the 15th to the 17th, at the Palácio Flor da Murta, in Paço de Arcos, Oeiras.

Students may attend the masterclasses at no additional cost and are encouraged to attend the other classes of the Introductory Piano Course.

Places are limited, so registration will only be confirmed upon payment.
